Why are children becoming Obese
In today’s world, the living environment develops better than the past. This situation directly affects human life especially people’ health. People more and more care about their body. However, obesity is a serious problem for people’s health especially for children. It will affect children’s future in life. In the article “Why are children becoming Obese?” by David Kraft, there are several reasons will cause children obesity such as eating habits, exercise, biology and sleep.
From the article, David Kraft mentioned that kids eat a lot of junk food that will have high percentage to be fat. In addition, many children prefer spending time to play games or watch TV than doing exercise. Parents’ influences also will be a reason. If parents are overweight, it will cause they will not care so much about their children’s weight. As a result, children who have overweight parents are much easy to be obese than children who without have overweight parents. The last reason the author considered is enough sleep. Enough sleep cause calories reducing in the minimum, so children weight is fatter. Therefore, children become more and more overweight.
In my opinion, exercise is the most important. The reason I say that is doing exercise is a useful way to help children lose their weight even if they eat a lot of food, have enough sleep -or make influence by their obese parents. In my gym class in high school, my teacher tough us that every day keep doing exercise at least 30 minutes is a good way to keep a balance of weight. If you maintain an exercise regimen, it will significantly help you lose your weight. On the other hand, if people don’t do exercise, calories will increase with eating food. As a result, weight will spontaneously increase. Therefore, exercise is very important.
